We don't normally do an excursion in each port, and often like to just get off of the ship to walk around. 

 

Which ports would you say have good shopping and things to see within walking distance of the ship, and which have not much of anything and are better enjoyed by getting away from the port?

Sydney is definitely where I'd recommend an excursion - the others are very walkable. There are a few things in Sydney, but not as much as the others.

Random musing of the morning - all of the cups, glasses, and mugs are much smaller than they seem. Particularly the coffee cups and water glasses in the lido.

It's still pretty rocky. The promenade deck is closed, so everything also feels a bit more crowded.

 

We used that as motivation to pack up some of our stuff to give us a bit more space.

Yes - there was definitely one on Quebec City yesterday, and I think there was at least one other.

Cool! We just booked a 21-day PC cruise in April 2025 and enjoy going to those, as well as any lectures they may provide on the longer cruises.

Since the ship is in Quebec Friday and Saturday, can you get off the ship and return at anytime until checkout on Saturday? We are on the same cruise September 9th. Thanks

We were on Zaandam last summer with the same ports.  

Bar Harbor (tender) brings you to an area with shops and restaurants nearby

Halifax has a a market type building at the port and quite a bit of stuff along the water.

Sydney had had a few shops where we docked by the BIG Fiddle.

Charlottetown had quite a few shops and other stuff right next to the port

Quebec City has plenty to see.  Try Old Town

OP, do you (or anyone else of course!) happen to know if the kinda rough seas you’ve encountered are normal for that area of the Atlantic or is it due to Franklin?
