The captain said they were due to a normal cold front. It was more the wind than the waves that was causing problems.

Rare Rubyfisch Posted September 1, 2023 Author #183 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Note - we are at Quai 30, not 20/21, so we are not in Old Town. There are free shuttle buses, but we are also going to investigate just walking. Balcony views:

Balcony views: Might want to take the shuttle bus into town - that way you know where to pick it up if you decide not to walk back. Thats our normal approach.

Thats our normal approach. We ended up taking the shuttle because it was right there when we got off. It doesn't really leave you "in town." It just takes you out of the secure port area and drops you kind of by Quai 21.
Rare Rubyfisch Posted September 1, 2023 Author #186 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Overnighting on the last night feels very weird. Like, it feels like we are getting off the ship today, even though we aren't.
SWEETSEA Posted September 1, 2023 #187 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Tell us about Quebec City. How far of walk into Old Town. Do you need to book an excursion here?

Do you need to book an excursion here? It's a short walk from the shuttle - maybe 7 to 10 minutes. And the shuttle is only like five minutes. It's very easy to do without an excursion. 1

Rare Rubyfisch Posted September 1, 2023 Author #190 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Quebec City is lovely - definitely a highlight. We walked about 30,000 steps, so we are exhausted, but it was well worth it.

Rare Rubyfisch Posted September 2, 2023 Author #195 Share Posted September 2, 2023 And then we walked up to the Citadel - which we didn't realize you couldn't just walk into ... You need a tour. So we skipped that and then just headed down the boardwalk stairs.

Rare Rubyfisch Posted September 2, 2023 Author #197 Share Posted September 2, 2023 None of the restaurants were speaking to us, so we headed back to the ship. We walked passed this pool-bar thing that looked fascinating, but alas, we kept going:
