Explorer fitness area

We have been on the Regent Seven Seas Explorer many times. The fitness area is very clean and has many machines. Every time we fill out the end of cruise survey we suggest they need to add additional weights as only1 set of weights is available. In addition, there are no 8, 12 or 17 lb weights. Several times 1 couple will use the only set of 5,10, or 15lb weights for over 15 minutes. In contrast, Oceania Riviera has multiple sets of weights. There is plenty of room for more weights to be added on the Explorer, perhaps using a vertical rack of rubber weights.

We will be on for over a month next year and hope this is corrected

What the Explorer and Splendor gyms need is wheelchair access; or at least access by walker.  Only way to access is on Deck 6 and then you have to maneuver through tight doorway and down two steps.  Just because someone's legs are not usable does not mean that they don't want to use the gym to work on upper body strength.

I once accidentally walked by one of those fitness centers on the ship and they seem to be horrifyingly unhealthy and chillingly dangerous places!  I am terrified to even be near one of them and have made it my goal to never be in the vicinity of another one!  Most of the people I saw in the fitness center seemed to be profusely sweating and were suffering from sky-rocketing heart rates!  A few even seemed to be only "minutes away" from a heart attack! 😵

To "rescue myself" from those immediate dangers, I quickly sought out the refuge and safety of the Connoisseur Club!  I found the lounge to be far more relaxing - and certainly a "safer place"!  There were other smiling and friendly folks (just like me) in the lounge, there were many pleasant conversations going on, and there were many cool and refreshing drinks available to us...All gladly and quickly provided to us by very friendly wait staff!  Overall, I also sensed a much lower physical exertion and stress level among everyone in the Club!  I had the same relaxing experience in the casino, although I must admit that every now and then, I could feel my heart rate go up a little bit, depending upon what the slot machine I was playing on was "doing".  But those random moments of "elevated excitement" quickly passed!  These are just my own observations.
