Which nights are formal

Reading that on longer sailings, more than ten days, there are formal nights but on our itineraries it says all smart casual.  
 

we like to eat in waterside on formal nights and specialties on casual nights.  I just noticed this when trying to book our specialties online.

They will have to call at the present time and they might not be able to get the information. This is something we've asked Crystal to include in their system.

 

If you provide the ship and date of your itinerary I could at least tell you what it might be based on our own experience.

If your itinerary states "all smart casual," then that's probably what it will be. 

If memory serves, in general, any formal night will not be on the day of embarkation or debarkation, and will only be on a sea day.  In my experience, formal night was frequently on the first sea day of a cruise, but that may or may not be the case with OC.
