island tour & thriller

We are considering taking the Thriller excursion in the afternoon but would like to see some of the island in the morning. The main points we are interested in are the east coast scenery, the wildlife reserve and possibly Cherry Tree hill. Anyone have suggestions as to who would provide such a morning tour for a good price? I've gotten a quote from a "reputable" taxi service for $40 per hour...is that the going rate? When we're at the reserve, are they still charging us that rate?

We used Cameron Reid and had a great time. He offers standard tours, but will customize to your needs. Check out his website at http://www.scenicbarbados.com and then email him to discuss what you want to see and how long it will take and what the cost will be. He and I corresponded several times via email to put together our tour.

 

Whoever you choose to use, your driver will wait for you while you do your exploring or visit attractions, and the time you spend doing that is "on the clock", so it is part of your hourly rate to the driver.

We also used Cameron Reid for our Dec 1st tour. We customized our tour and for 6.5 hours of PERSONAL TOUR for 4 of us he charged us $150.00. That works out to $37.50 per person for almost the whole day. He took us all over the island as we were not interested in the caves or other tourist sights but just wanted to see as much of the island as possible. He knows everything about everything and loves showing his island to others. You cant go wrong with him.
