Stock Credit and Onboard Purchases

Thinking about buying stock for the $100 obc for by Breakaway cruise in February. I have purchased the FAS. My question is I would probably use it to upgrade my wifi or put it towards and excursion.  My price right now to upgrade to unlimited internet is $109 which doesn't seem bad and the excursions seem reasonably priced right now as well. If I wait to upgrade or purchase once onboard will the prices increase significantly. I have heard that could be the case. Not sure if it makes sense to buy the stock if it ends up being basically a wash.

I have no idea about the Internet price, but the excursion could go up in price.  The bigger problem will be with the excursions you want selling out before you get onboard.  But if you're not picky and are willing to just select from whatever is left, then you can wait to get onboard for the excursions.

I am reading the terms and it sounds like it can be used at the Casino?

It may not be used toward onboard service charges or prepurchased activities."

Shareholder OBC is considered non-refundable and cannot be used in the casino.

if you decide to purchase shore excursions using your OBC, wait until you on board.  The Shareholder credit will not apply to any purchased made online before your cruise. I usually buy lots of those 20.00 watches with my OBC ( its just about the same price to get a cheap watch than buy replacement batteries)

You can also buy it in advance and then have the excursion desk refund/rebuy once on board.  I've done this successfully several times.  It ranges from "easy" to "PIA," depending upon who is working the SHOREX desk.  Last cruise I had to have the onboard credit girl walk over to the SHOREX clowns (yes, they actually had big red noses) and educate them.🤡
