Regent Cancellation

Was originally booked on Haifa to Rome. After the war broke out Regent diddled for a few days and changed to itinerary to Istanbul to Rome and added 2 sea days in place the the stops in Jerusalem. I stated that I didn't want to sail on this revised itinerary, which now amounts to a repositioning cruise. They basically said "tough luck" No refunds and no price adjustments. I cancelled anyway and now I am out about 30 Grand.

This cruise should have been cancelled and money refunded.

Regent is a miserable company indeed.

I understand and I'm so sorry this happened to you. 

You might want to check with your credit card company about a chargeback. Probably impossible but it would be worth it to try.

It seems like at this point a compromise could be in order….at least a percentage refunded.

Do you have insurance? If so, I would be aggressive in pursuing it.

Unless they had "cancel for any reason" the Insurance won't pay as the cruise didn't cancel.  It just ended up with a new itinerary.

Right…still a mess. Hope we don’t have problems in July.
