Zeg Posted November 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2023 Any theories as to why MSC have ‘pulled’ Euribia 1st December departure from Southampton? Dates available both before and after. Most curious.
Mark_T Posted November 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2023 Probably just sold out, she is based in Hamburg so joining in Southampton probably had fairly limited inventory as most guests will not be leaving until 2 days later when she reaches Hamburg again.... Zeg Posted November 7, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted November 7, 2023 Thanks Mark. Sounds like a reasonable explanation. Still wondering what is significant about 1st December though when there’s availability before and after.
peder Posted November 7, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) Cruise Plum listed two YC categories for sale, and they refresh every 12-24 hours. I would find it a bit odd that just overnight both of those categories were suddenly sold out. It's possible, I suppose, but I've seen these inventory fluctuations happen a lot with Euribia sailings (you can see my own posts here on the topic). They have some obscure business rules and/or contracts with travel agents and major 3rd parties that cause rooms to appear and disappear, and sometimes even entire sailings. I don't think we'll ever get very clear information from MSC for why this occurs. Edited November 7, 2023 by peder

Also occurred to me that Black Friday is around the corner. Who knows?
showingdiva Posted November 7, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2023 I wouldn't be surprised if it's sold out. Since the first sailing I was on out of Southampton on 13th October, her sailings have been between 91 - 98% full
peder Posted November 8, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2023 Yep, especially this close to the sail date, could easily be sold out. One last anecdote: I'm pretty sure my Seashore sailing this summer disappeared a few days about 30 days out. It wasn't sold out, and re-appeared a few days later. My memory on this isn't perfect, but I think I had been trying to find which staterooms were still available for purposes of an upgrade, and I was unable to do so because my sailing briefly disappeared. I assume they were doing some batch job close to the sail date that temporarily locked the inventory.
