Closed toed shoes for the ropes course and Sky ride-   Do water socks work?  The kind with a rubber bottom and completely covers the foot? Or does it have to be an athletic shoe?

Yes.  They need to be tight fitting

FYI, closed-toe shoes also required if you take the “Behind the Fun” tour.
