Nanner Posted December 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2023 My DH and I are about to embark on a cruise, hauling a 3-legged cane with folding seat for the first time. He’s concerned about how those are handled by Delta. My thought is that he carries it on the plane and it gets stored by the cabin crew. Please help me set his mind at ease. kokopelli-az Posted December 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2023 Definitely carry it on the plane. It does not count as one of your carry-ons and flies for free. You can stow it in one of the overhead bins (or the crew can assist). Never check your cane.
suramom Posted January 19 #3 Share Posted January 19 we found that sort of cane to be very heavy and unwieldy. You have probably gone already, but i wonder how it went. We now use a hurrycane and a walker.
MeggMegg Posted January 21 #4 Share Posted January 21 I took a Tada cane seat on airlines and a cruise without problem. It was really helpful for standing in lines or then sitting in lines. I used it for bad knee arthritis and low back pain. My husband has CHF and fatigue and can sit on it in a big box store if he needs to rest. On the airline i put it in the seat against the window with me, and I think I had room in the overhead bin once. Seattle wanted me to put it through a different scanner going through security which I did. I will say if you get this that it is fine on indoor floors or concrete, but I used it on the grass once and lost 2 feet when it sunk in. I don’t use it for balance but to rest and sit on it. I would take it again in a minute.
