What did you do when you couldn't make your cruise due to flight cancellations?

The reason to call other airlines is that the airline who canceled on you will usually not put you on another airline. This limits your choices. Now, if you do go on another airline, it might be hard to be reimbursed, but it beats missing your cruise. (Or being stuck somewhere for 3 days like happened to me.)
