Hi,

Has anyone done this excursion?   It’s listed as 'demanding'.

From reading the description,  I can't see why it would classified as demanding?

Do you know?

Thank you.

Andrea

Embark on a scenic journey up Mt. Etna, one of the world’s most active volcanoes.

Reaching heights of almost 11,000 feet, this fabled volcano looms large over the landscape and history. Meet your guide, then travel by motor coach through the verdant countryside and past the small villages that live in the shadow of the volcano. Centuries of lava flows have helped create a rich, fertile soil that is perfect for vineyards and orchards. Your guide will point out the different lava streams that descend down Mt. Etna’s slopes. Upon arrival at Sapienza Refuge, you will transfer to a cable car, which will take you up to around 9,000 feet. Enjoy sweeping views of the countryside as your guide describes the volcano and its lava flows. Afterward, return to the refuge, where you will have free time to relax or explore independently before returning to your ship.
