Marella Cruise & Stay - when do we leave ship for transfer to hotel

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

We have booked our first cruise and stay on the Explorer 2 in May, Sail Three Seas with hotel stay in Cavtat. Just wondering how the disembarking and onward transfer to hotel works, what the process is etc. Imagine we won’t be able to book into hotel until mid afternoon earliest so just hoping we don’t get taken off ship early just to sit around in hotel reception for hours!

Any advice from those who have done cruise and stay in the past would be appreciated - thank you!

Have done many cruise n stays and have never been off ship early doors. The norm has been been 11ish/midday but think its dependant on distance from port/ship to resort/hotel.Saying that,we have arrived at hotels where rooms weren,t ready which forced us into the partaking of liquid  to quench our thirst and pass the time

Our experience Marella are pretty well on the ball with transfer times from ship to hotel

You have to be out of your cabin at 08:00 regardless. In our experience we have always had time for breakfast and then a leisurely coffee or two, as Jim says it’s usually between 11:00 and midday.👍🏻

Thank you all for the info, this has helped put our minds at rest. No prob having to be out of cabin early and pleased we will still be able to use facilities on board prior to our transfers. We have stayed in Cavtat a few times but that was a good few years ago, so we are looking forward to seeing what’s changed etc. Also have been on a couple of Marella ships before but not been on the Explorer 2 yet so yes, looking forward to it for sure.  Thanks again for your info 👍
