Texas Alcohol question

 Share

Recommended Posts

Good day,

We fly into Houston to sail out of Galveston.  Since our drink packages do not apply on the day of sailing, we plan to bring on a bottle of wine with us.  My question is, how is alcohol sold in Texas?  In CA you can buy 24/7 at places like a 7-11 and grocery store etc.  But I know in other states there are restrictions on times/days or locations alcohol can be purchased.  What is the case in Texas?  TIA

I had to Google it because I don’t drink but here’s what came through:

For grocery and convenience stores, Texas's alcohol sales times for wine are the same as beer: Monday through Friday, 7 am to midnight, Saturday, 7 am to 1 am; and Sundays now, from 10 am to midnight. Aside from grocery or convenience stores, package stores sell beer and wine, not liquor.
