There is nothing like classic rock or just good music. Not sure where you're listening but there's everything. I say that as a huge classic rock fan

Oh - I guess you mean they music the pump in over speakers. My bad - I meant the live music all around the ship, of which I believe there is plenty of variety...at least in my experience. Rare morpheusofthesea Posted July 23 #55 Share Posted July 23 Another contributing factor is the low price cruise fare attracting a low class guest with no social etiquette. We were sitting having dinner in the YC restaurant when from down below us in the TopSail Lounge was this loud voice coming from a smart phone on speaker. After a few minutes I thought the call would be over, but to my dismay it continued. I took out my phone and stuck it over the railing to film it for all of you. In reviewing all can plainly see the faces of the perpetrators and I am not savvy enough to block out faces on a video. So I will not post. But I will save it for posterity. People on speaker phones are a scourge everywhere. I saw plenty of fancy people talking on speaker phone for extended times on my Princess Alaska cruise. That's not exactly a budget trip.

I think it may be the demographics being less Americans on MSC, not a class thing. I know having spent a lot of time in Greece and Italy that people there are much more animated and just louder when they communicate. Doesn’t matter their economic level. At first I thought people were really agitated and angry over there but that’s just how they speak. I’ve seen this in other countries and regions of the world as well (I’ve traveled a lot having worked on ships). I witnessed the loudness on Costa Cruises as well when I worked on the Atlantica. Think Italian Game Show 24/7. Everything was very loud there too. North Americans tend to bit a bit more reserved for the most part (there are exceptions of course). I also think as I said before that MSC ships have a lot of uncovered floor spaces and metal everywhere. It echoes a lot.

But it does buy a lot of good friends working on cruise ships. Edited July 23 by morpheusofthesea
