Canceling Princess Excursions - what is "Closing Time for Cancellation"

It sounds like unless you book at non-refundable excursion, they are refundable until "Closing Time for Cancellation". BUT, it also seems like you won't find out what this deadline is until you are onboard? In other posts I've read that it is usually 5:00pm two evenings before the excursion, but the threads seem to be pre-covid so I'm wondering if this has changed. Anyone with more recent experience willing to share their experiences with cancelation times?

(we haven't traveled since COVID and are booking a few expensive shore excursion days - - a little worried about how much money we would be out if someone ended up getting sick on board and we had to miss a day or 2)

Except for special cases, such as flights, closing time is two days prior to the excursion.

If you get sick on board and see the ship's doctor, they will refund excursions after the closing time if the doctor says you shouldn't go. You will have to pay for the medical visit, but it could be covered by insurance.
