Cafe promenade has really upped their game. Never had that sandwich before. Cream cheese and spinach. Really good.

 

Casino on the other hand, really bad.

 

How bad?

 

I lost all yesterday's profits. Most of day one's as well 😞.

 

Back In the room and and turning in for the evening. Tomorrow will be our first sea day.

Hopefully your casino luck changes! I just saw on another site, that someone on your cruise won an $11k jackpot in the non-smoking room!!

Plenty of days left for your luck to change! However, I'm not understanding that sandwich....cream cheese and spinach on bread is a good thing? Hmmm.... Can't wait to see what shenanigans you get into on your sea day.

I don't think I've ever been on an itinerary with two poets before a sea day. Unusual.

 

Hoping today the casino is in a more generous mood. 

 

Getting up and seeing where today takes me now.

Nice! That room is super tiny I've kinda given up on it, maybe I need to swing in there again.

We have warmth!! Finally far enough south that the sunshine is not just an illusion. 

 

Casino is off to a nice start. As yesterday proves, lady luck can be fickle but she is in a good mood so far.

Eating light as I am still full from yesterday 😆. 

 

The salmon here is very nice. Nice huge portion and a wonderful mustard sauce on the side. I feel like the sauce used to be thicker but I could be mistaken. 

 

The fish was just slightly overcooked but not enough to make the dish not enjoyable. 

 

Key lime pie for dessert.

The key lime pie is not for a purist but I do really enjoy it. I love a good tart key lime and this one has that. It is also, however, very sweet still because of the meringue topping.

 

This used to be thicker so the meringue was not so overpowering but I still enjoy it and my only desire for a bigger portion of the pie was how yummy it was, I am pretty much in a permanent food coma at this point 😆. 

 

Coffee time, no line on this sea day with only one order ahead of mine.

I don't think I've ever seen this offered any time but early morning. 

 

 

I've done some kitchen tours but I have never done a backstage tour. This is a first for me.

Interesting that they put it in the app, they have had to turn some people away who didn't realize it is a loyalty benefit. 

 

Apperently the afternoon time is because the celiac group had the theater booked this morning. Lots of grumbling about the time change. Goodness, this must be really exciting to see if you have been enough times that you are committed to going at the same time each cruise.

 

Change is hard.

 

Those people who got turned away were giving me the same look I gave the lady who summoned a priority elevator this morning while the commoners were stuck waiting forever.

 

Starting a few minutes late due to a technical difficulty.

After my walk I did a little casino and a little wandering. I do miss having an included sauna to spend some time in in the afternoon. 

 

Now I'm at Izumi sushi for dinner.

Very good And it's vegetables so it's healthy. I think I've seen this on the Windjammer before, if you ever see it be sure to get it. It's very good.

Very good. The sushi here is always so fresh tasting and the sauces served with them are delicious. I would have loved a full roll though. 

 

Beef teriyaki bowl 611

The beef had a very nice flavor and was very tender. The teriyaki sauce also had a nice flavor. I would have liked more sauce, as the bites with no beef or sauce was simply plain white rice and lacked flavor.

 

I would still get this again but it was not my favorite just due to inconsistent flavoring.
