Rare Crookshanks Posted March 11 #1 Share Posted March 11 Good afternoon! I attempted to search for the answer, but I must not have had the correct keywords. We are booked on the December 28th, 2024 New Years Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale on the Sun Princess. I'm just curious if we will have 'special' color medallions or if the 'inaugural season' part is only the cruises in the Med. What is an Inaugural Year? Is it a calendar year from first sail date? Is it any itinerary that departs during 2024? Is it only the first handful of cruises? This is by no means important. Just inquiring minds. I'm excited to get on the ship! Especially after watching the Adam Savage videos on the engineering and designing of the ship. Husband and I really enjoy seeing the behind the scenes stuff and 'watching' it being built was really interesting! And I expect that by December, they will have worked out all of the kinks! Thanks and have a wonderful day!
Moondogy Posted March 12 #2 Share Posted March 12 Just a wild guess, I'd say you would be in the inaugural year. We was on the Discovery End of August 2022 and her inaugural sail was March 2022 and we got the special medallions.
avonlady6390 Posted March 12 #3 Share Posted March 12 Same for me I was on the discovery October 2022 and it was still considered the inaugural year with white medallions.
Dee_Jay Posted March 12 #4 Share Posted March 12 We were on Discovery in January 2023, and still had the white medallions. I think they go one full year from the inaugural cruise.
Rare startedwithamouse Posted March 12 #5 Share Posted March 12 Discovery was a year. We were on her inaugural and her one year anniversary, both times medallions with white background.
