Dawnspring Posted March 15 #3 Share Posted March 15 I was in a cruise where someone died on an excursion using one of these. There’s a good reason why some cruise lines ban them.

catspaw1 Posted March 16 #5 Share Posted March 16 We are PADI certified advanced divers & also snorkel. I would never use a full face mask. Go to a good dive shop & buy your own face mask & snorkel & bring with you. They will fit a lot better. For the ladies, I use a special strap so my hair doesn't get caught up. We also have flippers that use dive booties that work great. We will bring all equipment to the Xploration next June. Bring your own gear that doesn't leak! Dancing Shoes Posted March 16 #6 Share Posted March 16 (edited) These masks are not good. There is a reason that the dive/snorkel shops don't rent them out in Hawaii. Spend $ money to get a good fitting mask for your face shape. When you put on the mask, make sure there is NO hair under any part of the mask. Have fun. We saw much in the Galapagos. Rare We_like_to_cruise Posted March 16 #7 Share Posted March 16 We just got off the Flora (fantastic!) and full-face snorkel masks were "not recommended". The ship had plenty of snorkeling gear in all sizes as well as wet suits. Enjoy your trip !
