Packing light? Yeah right!!

Ari & Jacqui

Recommended Posts

From all the posts and suggestions, I think it's impossible to pack light! Here is what I've got listed:
duct tape
soft sided cooler
booze
water
collapsable laundry basket
power strip
fan (for sea sickness, the rooms don't get cool enough)
bungee cord
tobasco sauce
VHS tapes for the room
...and that's just to name a few! Then there are the clothes, of course...casual, resort and formal, shoes, hair products, make up, and all the lovely girly stuff.
Seems like packing light for a cruise is impossible!!
Am I forgetting anything?

Don't forget the "Post-It Notes" for leaving messages for cabin steward, friends, DH, etc., and a highlighter for your Capers.

I always say I'm going to pack light! Baahahaha. I say only 2 suitcases and 1 carry-on. Then proceed to pack the 2 suitcases so full it takes a gorilla to lift them! Than the carry-on gets the excess and my left arm is 3 inches longer than my right by the time we board. Go, have fun and fugetta bout what you didn't bring! You ladies have great cruises.

The one thing that I advise is to coordinate your evening outfits around one pair of shoes. You will be surprised how light your luggage feels.

Ditto on the shoes idea. I took one pair of black dress shoes and made sure they matched with each dress for the evening. Made it really easy. Only thing is that next time I will take two pairs that match everything. My feet started hurting after hte first couple of nights as dress shoes arent't he most comfortable. Would have been nice to have different areas of pressure to give my feet a rest.

I could never just take one pair of shoes! You need sandals, flip flops, tennis shoes(if you go to the gym). I take at least 5 pair of shoes and that is probably the minimium.

Just curious - what's the tabasco sauce for? We were just on the Glory...group of 11 indians and nothing was ever spicy enough. We used tabasco all the time. All you had to do was ask for it. I found it amusing that we finished off a brand new bottle at dinner each night.
