Port of SF and luggage porters question

Recommended Posts

I’ve heard many reviews about luggage drop off at the Port of SF and most of them are bad. 😞 At Long Beach the porters are waiting as you as you pull in into the parking garage to take your bags. I’ve heard that’s not what happens in SF and often you are stuck is some long time waiting to check in your bags.

What was your experience at the Port of SF and finding the porters to drop your bags off with?

Thanks!

The porters are generally there waiting for you.  If I recall, there was only one time when I did not see any porters due to a scheduling mixup.  In that event, passengers had to roll there luggage to the x-ray room and then walk back to the line to get into the terminal.

When I went August of 2023 it was a nightmare.  Had to wait in line for them to take your luggage.  Looked like they were understaffed as it was quite a while before they took our luggage.  I'd sat 30 minutes or so waiting outside.  I was even waiving around tip money and that didn't help speed up the process.
