Comp Cruise - 24 Hour Hold - Question

I sent in a form via Virgin to see if I was eligible for a comp cabin, using my Signature casino status with Royal.
I was sent back an email asking if I had any dates in mind, I chose and got an email with a booking number, cabin assignment and $416 due for taxes/fees for 2 people. 

 

The email says:
Steven, your reservation is on hold for 24 hours* — and this time tomorrow, the epic getaway at sea you've been dreaming of could be a reality.
*Please note, if your sailing is within the next 45 days, payment is required now. If you're head-over-feels about this voyage (or scored a limited-time deal you just can't miss out on), don't wait.

 

My sail date is in November, so more than 45 days away. The website states my balance of $416 is due by July 18th. However, there is no way to accept the offer without paying the $416. Is his common?

I intend to go, but needed to wait until the 1st of the month to make that payment and will lose the opportunity in 24 hours.

In cases like this, it doesn't matter what anyone here says, call Virgin in the morning.

I had an identical email when onboard, after putting down the deposit of $300 for the "My Next Virgin Voyage"  I went by their desk while onboard, and it turned out I had not received the next email with my confirmation email.  They pushed the email through to me. I would call and they should get it straightened out for you.

Call Sailor Services to find out if you truly do have until July 18 or you need to make the payment within 24 hours.
