Seabourn Marketing does it again

Recommended Posts

We are joining Encore in about 6 weeks and today received a marketing e-mail from SB "Plan Your MEDITERRANEAN SHORE EXCURSIONS -
In a matter of weeks you’ll be on board, taking in stunning views of the Mediterranean and sipping a welcome glass of Champagne! We invite you to enhance your Mediterranean experience with a wide range of shore excursions..."

It then goes on to describe various Mediterranean ports and gives links to the SB page for that port with further details and excursions.  NONE of these ports are on our itinerary! The SB marketing department has exceeded all expectations again!

Ya excursions beyond being very expensive and you can do better on your own with a private tour often are illogical.  And why do wine tasting tours start at 9 a.m.?  How about 11 a.m. with the hour plus bus ride to taste wines.  Poor planning IMO

We are on the Quest and in the Med.  We have not been impressed with the offered excursions and have pretty much been DIY in port, and it has been just fine and fun.

One reason (of many) that we prefer SB is for the simple reason that they do not include or excursions in their pricing.  As a general rule, DW and I prefer to do our own thing or take a small group private tour.

It’s not just links they get wrong… we booked two expedition voyages and charter flight luggage limits in the itineraries continued to change.
One voyage had 3 different limits listed over 10 months as the itinerary was updated, then two weeks out from the trip another change - we had already left home! We queried with Seabourn central and got a different response again. They agreed their info was wrong and confusingly worded which they were rectifying. The next itinerary we received was different again and more ambiguous.

Three months later the subsequent voyage had two weight/limit changes for a debarkation flight. The latter just before we boarded. We queried on board they said ignore it all.

This is pretty fundamental information to get right.
