Visit to Dinant from Zeebrugge

We’re taking a QM2 two week cruise in 2026 and the first stop is in “Brugge” My husband is a fan of Leffe Beer, which is brewed in Dinant, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Zeebrugge cruise port. Maison Leffe offers half hour tours and tastings. 
 

If you’ve been to Belgium before, can you tell me if it would be foolish to try to get ourselves to Maison Leffe and back? I certainly would not want to miss the ship and I hear that traffic can be bad.  Thoughts?

An answer from a friend who lives in Belgium 

 

I wouldn’t try to get to Dinant and back on a cruise stop. Traffic can be horrendous depending on time of day. It’s really too risky. Trains would be 4 hours each way. So it’s a no from me. 

Although not Leffe, there are a couple of breweries in Brugge:

De Halve Maan and Bourgogne des Flandres.

They stopped brewing Leffe in Dinant back in 1996. Ever since then Leffe is brewed in the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven. The former brewery in Dinant is now turned into a museum that you can visit, but it’s no longer an active brewery.
