The old, original city ruins were interesting. Walking around the Cultural shopping area (Casico Viejo?) was nice. When going thru the Canal, there will be a Narrator onboard talking about the History, and some of the sites on journey. Personally, I wouldn't spend my time a the visitor center. You can watch pretty much the same thing on you tube, and get an idea on how it was built. The Old Locks are much more interesting than the New Locks. Enjoy your trip.
