I think I will package individual servings of my collegian powder and plan to drink coffee at our hotel so I will like it. I can always try Italian coffee as well but will still be caffeinated if I don’t care for it. I don’t like black coffee without my dark chocolate collegian powder added.

A fast guide of coffees in Italy

 

First. If you just ask a "coffee", they will serve a "espresso" coffee

 

>> "Only coffee"

 

1- Ristretto

2- Espresso

3- Lungo

4- Doppio   (= Two lungo coffees)

 

It is said for a Ristretto you should use a fork and a knive.

 

If you want "American coffee" ask for "caffe all'americana". 

Just to compare, it will be a Lungo coffee with hot water added later.

 

 

>> With milk

- Macchiato. Small cup with a bit of milk. Macchiato fredo/caldo = Cold/hot. They will get coffee to the fridge if you want it cold

- Caffe latte (translated coffee-milk). fifty-fifty. Ask for it only on breakfast

- Latte macchiato. More milk than coffee. Only for breakfast

- Capuccino. It is the Italian speciality. More or less a caffe-latte with some cocoa powder

 

 

And more

- Marocchino. Espresso with cocoa powder

- Mocacchino. Espresso with hot chocolate and foam milk

- Caffe vienese. A mocacchino but whiped cream instead of foam milk

- caffe con panna. Espresso with whiped cream

 

 

Caffé fredo. They will use cold coffee if you want. They will never add ice.

I just come to google about Italian coffees. I am so used to ask the same ones in Italy, I didn't remembered the full list.

 

I would say Italy is the country with more coffee culture and with so many different coffees.
