New to ambassador questions please.

Recommended Posts

Hi we are on the Ambition shortly  and wondered

Do all cabins have a fridge ,can you take a bottle of spirit for your room(don’t worry we will spend plenty in the bars )

Can you  decide to book the all inclusive after a few days if not sure ?
Is there any yoga or keep-fit classes onboard .

We usually travel with Azamara and Celebrity but the thought of being able to travel from Liverpool swung it for us .

thanks in advance of any kind replies .

No to all questions except maybe yoga/keep fit (not my scene!).

Ambition only has fridges in suites.

No bringing booze on board.

All-inclusive is only for the whole voyage I think.

Thank you ,we’re still trying to make our mind up about AI we do like a drink but not sure we would drink £44-95 pppd = £988 when you see it in black and white seems excessive .

The top drinks package also includes the daily gratuity (£7 pppd IIRC) and pretty much guarantees your choice of 1st or 2nd sitting for dinner.

Just considering Ambassador.

I am in a wheelchair. My partner will not use the buffet as it’s difficult to get food, push me and find seat. I think I read that even some meals in MDR are buffet style. If so we can’t consider Ambassador.

Shame really as much of this line appeals to us.

This is only true on Ambition.

Ambience has a staff served buffet and all meals in MDR are waiter served.

There are also staff who will carry your plate for you.

Ambition is different i.e. Self serve buffet and some buffet stuff for breakfast and lunch in MDR.

Update upon boarding we asked for the package and we were told it’s £44-95 pppd prior to boarding and £55-95 pppd so another £220 for two .

We too are new to this cruise line and the ability to sail from Liverpool is winning us over.

My DH is not a fan of dinner suits, been there done that, and as Azamara/ Oceania are our usual choices he enjoys the more casual dress code. Can he get away with a nice pair of dress pants a short sleeved shirt, but no jacket or tie on the formal nights! Does the formal code apply to the speciality restaurants? Also anyone stayed in one of the aft suites on deck 7 and are there any particular issues we should be aware of. Many thanks in advance.

From Ambassador's FAQs

Short answer is No for the formal/Gala nights in the Buckingham restaurant. How rigorously that is enforced is a whole different question, which I cannot answer as I follow their rules.

Specialities (I think) or buffet would be the way to go to avoid dress grief on formal nights.

SteveH2508 thanks for your reply. We have been assured that we can book a speciality restaurant and we will be fine, neither of us will be in jeans and T shirt, in fact we will dress every evening as if we were dining in a 5 star restaurant.  Looking at some You Tube videos it seems to depend on which cruise it is, looking at some I think we will be better dressed on casual nights!😁

Just back from Ambience today. Formal nights were generally well followed wrt dress code. My table were all formal. One table next to us had a bloke with a polo shirt on which had dodged the dhoby for a long time. I guess the enforcement of dress code rules is patchy to non-existent.

We booked 4nights on ambition and there’s only 2 adapted cabins.  It doesn’t sound very disabled friendly.
