bonrinso Posted June 20 #1 Share Posted June 20 Does anybody know if there is a free shuttle from where Azamara dock in Monaco (Nouvelle Digue I believe) into town and back please? If there is does anybody know the drop off /pickup point as well? I will be embarking there on July 6th and will be getting the train from Nice to Monaco station and any help with luggage would be a bonus rather than a longish walk to the dock. durante Posted June 20 #2 Share Posted June 20 Where the ship docks is already in town. The walk from the Monte Carlo train station to the ship is not too bad as long as you make sure to take the escalator from the station which takes you right down to street level opposite the marina. It’s a level walk from there past the casino supermarche and shops around to the dock.
manc Posted June 20 #3 Share Posted June 20 Any shuttle does not usually operate on embarkation day. Even if there are B2B passengers.
bonrinso Posted June 21 Author #4 Share Posted June 21 Thanks for that information. Yes from what I could work out it doesn't look too bad a walk, just though there might be an outside chance of a shuttle operating.
cruisermsoon Posted June 21 #5 Share Posted June 21 If you are arriving at Nice airport, there is a bus #80 from the airport to Monte Carlo, an hourly or 1/2 hourly service leaving from Platform 1 at Terminal 2, or 5 minutes later from Terminal 1. You can buy the tickets online or at Terminal 2 Gate 3. Timetable 2.00 2.45 3.15 3.45 etc. Arrives at Monaco Sporting Bay Hotel 55 minutes later, however closest bus stop to the port is Place d'Armes, or if you miss that one, the next stop at Princess Antoinette. Look at the map on Google Maps and you will see where the bus stops are.

john1970 Posted June 21 #7 Share Posted June 21 We got an uber from Nice right to the dock. It was very good value and saved the luggage dilemma.
HalifaxYorksCruiser Posted June 21 #8 Share Posted June 21 (edited) We are also on the 6th July cruise and will get the train from the airport and will probably walk from St Devote corner along the Bvd Albert 1er and then along Quai Antoine 1er to the cruise terminal. Have walked it a number of times previously but not with suitcases! My wife won’t be happy. . Edited June 21 by HalifaxYorksCruiser
bonrinso Posted June 22 Author #9 Share Posted June 22 HalifaxYorksCruiser - I have read that the St Devote exit from the station is steps only(no lifts or escalators). I was planning to use the port Hercule exit which I believe has escalators down. I think the exit comes out in Grimaldi Street which is close to St Devote, so the walk should be similar.
Desert Cruisers Posted June 23 #10 Share Posted June 23 We stopped in Monte Carlo last Fall. There was no in-town shuttle.

Yes the Port Hercule exit is the one we have used before which comes out at the St Devote Grand Prix track corner ( not the St Devote church) . It’s escalators only so might be a bit of a struggle with case and hand luggage. Info here: Monaco Monte-Carlo station is a train station located underground in the Condamine district. Passengers can reach all four corners of the Principality via the following six access points, Monte-Carlo Pont Sainte Dévote (at the bottom of Boulevard Princesse Charlotte). This access is suitable for people with reduced mobility: use the lifts in the station car park on Avenue d’Alsace, a few metres behind the main entrance. Parvis sainte-Dévote Station esplanade in the Sainte Dévote valley, access via the stairs behind the Church of St. Devota. This access is not suitable for people with reduced mobility (stairs only). Port Hercule Underground passage at the bottom of Rue Grimaldi, to the left of the Church of St. Devota. This access is not suitable for people with reduced mobility (escalators only). Exotic Garden/Hospital At the intersection of Boulevard de Belgique and Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. This access is not suitable for people with reduced mobility (escalators only). La Condamine Access from Allée Lazare Sauvaigo, or from Rue Grimaldi and Rue Suffren-Reymond via the stairs or lifts at the Post Office. This access is suitable for people with reduced mobility. Fontvieille/Le Rocher Access from Avenue Prince Pierre and Allée Lazare Sauvaigo, to the right of Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School. This access is suitable for people with reduced mobility.
HalifaxYorksCruiser Posted June 24 #12 Share Posted June 24 (edited) Actually I might get the Fontveille exit as that is served by moving walkways . From the exit it’s all downhill to the harbour front. Edited June 24 by HalifaxYorksCruiser
BritishLandS Posted July 1 #13 Share Posted July 1 It looks easy but this is a fair walk, even without luggage and you need to change moving walkways often! I guess it depends how much luggage you have.... but I wouldn't be looking forward to it!

HalifaxYorksCruiser Posted July 22 #15 Share Posted July 22 We actually managed the transfer from Nice airport to Monaco relatively well. Upon leaving Nice T1 we got the free tram to the railway station. You get on the tram at the nearest platform to the terminal doors. The other platform tram goes to T2. The tram is free to the railway station. If going further there are pay stations on the tram platform. If your cruise starts in Nice you can get the tram straight through to Nice Port Lymm .
