WiFi before embarkation?

If we have an internet plan will we be able to use it as soon as we board or do we have to wait to leave port? We're leaving tomorrow out of Vancouver so does anybody know if there's free WiFi at Canada Place?

Wifi has always been available for me as soon as I've boarded.

The Starlink system is always on, subject to any brief outage, eg for software updates. The crew use the same infrastructure. So you can use it all times that you are on board, whether sailing or in port. However note that some parts of Alaska are towards the edge of Starlink's footprint. Vancouver won't be an issue though.

A few of the fjords in Norway gave a few connection issues in the past. Will the new system surmount those problems Pushpit ?

I think you may be correct in your implication there. These pesky mountains and pine trees all over the place! But Starlink is a much more powerful set-up, with an astonishing network of 6,000 small satellites, so I would suspect the risk of outages will be there, but typically brief until a line of sight with another satellite is found.
