Disembarkation in Oslo

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have experience in disembarkation in Oslo? Our ship is scheduled to arrive at 8:00am and our flight is at 11:50am. In your experience, will we be able to make this flight? We have pre-booked transportation. TYIA

I assume you’re flying out of OSL (Gardermoen)? If so, it should be fine if everything goes to plan and you’re able to disembark quite early.

Is your first leg within the Schengen, or do you need to clear exit immigration in Oslo? If you’re looking at a flight direct to the US, you’ll have additional checks to clear and may not be able to use the automated check-in kiosks. I usually aim to be at the airport 2½ hours before a long-haul trip, 1½-2 before a shorter international journey, and 1 hour for a domestic flight.

Taking a taxi all the way to the airport would be around 45 minutes, but depending on the day there could be rush hour traffic delays. The fastest option would be taking a 10-minute (plus any delays) taxi to Oslo S and catching the next Flytoget or Vy train to the airport, which takes 20 minutes.

The time is very close but possible to catch a 11:50 flight.

The correct answer depends on how long it takes to clear the ship (depending on where the ship comes from and the cruise line). It can take up to an hour before selfdisembarking is possible.
It takes about an hour to the airport so you can be there approx. 10 am. How long time before at the airport depends on the destination of your flight as explained above.

Thanks for the replies. We will be disembarking from the Atlas Navigator. Small ship of around 200 people. Hopefully, this will be quick. Also, flying to AMS, so within Schengen. We will look into the train option. Thanks again!
