mjcatlvr Posted June 29 #1 Share Posted June 29 Hello, We will be arriving on NCL Jewel on Monday, August 5th. Usually one of the first off the boat. We will have my elderly father with us and some large pieces of luggage. My father would be unable to walk to the transport station for the quick train. Are there available cab/vans as you walk off or can anyone recommend a reliable transport company that we could arrange ahead of time? Thank you in advance for your help. cruiseryyc Posted June 29 #2 Share Posted June 29 There is a line up for cabs after picking up your luggage.
Rare martincath Posted July 3 #3 Share Posted July 3 If you're serious that dad cannot walk the distance to SkyTrain, you really should arrange a wheelchair and pusher (or get him a scooter or some other mobility aid) for him both at the pier and the airport - there is further to walk inside both of these than from the pier to SkyTrain! Taxis, and also I believe prebooked Limos, can pick people up inside the pier which minimizes walking - but all rideshares have to meet people down the street now, although they can drop off inside they cannot pickup. I'm afraid I can't offer any limo reccos, we walk to and from the pier.
Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted July 11 #4 Share Posted July 11 Two years ago, I took a taxi from the pier to the airport. Something large disembarked its passengers faster than my ship did and I was in the taxi queue for almost an hour. At that time, the taxis went into the underground garage and picked up near the door. I think they still do that. I'm in Vancouver now, leaving tomorrow, and by 7 AM I saw the taxis lined up in the street waiting their turn to go into the garage to pick up passengers. Can your father climb into a bus? A ship transfer to the airport would load fairly close to the doors and involve much less standing than waiting for a taxi.
