CruiseVirginfromBrooklyn Posted June 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Trying to make up our minds about a cruise in August - both the Miracle and the Victory are appealing in their own ways. I like the idea of a quick 5 day cruise but, on the same hand, the 7 day on the Miracle might be good too...and it is only 2 extra days. Input is welcome both positive and negative!! skitch57 Posted June 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Took the same ship on a cruise to Canada a few years ago and am going again this August. Had a great time, it was beautiful and DIFFERENT than your ususal cruise. Going to Bermuda for a week in July so thought a short cruise in August before I head back for another year of teaching would be a nice diversion. I think you would enjoy it
judyf Posted June 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I would do the Miracle. Why? I would rather go where it's warm! jfritz126 Posted June 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2004 We have done both of these cruises and they were both great! I personally liked the Miracle better as far as the ship goes. It all depends whether you want cool weather or warm weather. But the Miracle has the best CD's by far!!!! Mask Posted June 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2004 Triguy, what to you mean by that comment? ... "The only things(sp) in Canada is Canadians" Some day my ship will come in ... but with my luck I'll be on a plane. CruiseVirginfromBrooklyn Posted June 18, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted June 18, 2004 That's kind of the debate that is taking place, the Miracle (overall) is a nicer ship but, the weather will be just as warm and sticky - if not more so - in Florida and the Bahamas. The Victory is ok but, we've been on the Destiny and the Triumph and know what to expect...sure Canada will probably be cooler but we've done this cruise twice already, there isn't much more for us to see.... We're going to Bermuda in July and are just looking for an escape cruise for August. Since we're hitting a dead-end, maybe someone would care to offer a suggestion...it can even be a land based vacation. Thanks. mirrajay Posted June 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2004 You could do Alaska or you could take a land based trip or a cruise up to Quebec instead of Nova Scotia. And yeah - what was meant by the "only thing in canada is canadians"??? Carnival Victory, here I come!
Seabreezes2 Posted June 19, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 19, 2004 CruiseVirginFromBrooklyn---I believe the Miracle will be sailing from Florida after this summer in New York and fall runs from Baltimore. The Victory has been doing and looks like will continue with the Canada schedule for a while. imlulu Posted June 19, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 19, 2004 How about a quick trip to NYC or maybe northern New England???? The Outerbanks??? I recommend the Miracle but those ports dont interest me in the middle of summer. No longer cruiseless...donations still accepted! Crazsea Posted June 19, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 19, 2004 I love Canada and The Canadians! But, the two extra days on the Miracle would be my choice. If you want a beautiful place to drive to, only about 9 hours from you, why not take a land based vacation to Quebec City, Quebec Province. It is a romantic and breathtaking spot to visit. The drive up through the Adirondacks is also beautiful. You can stop off in Saratoga Springs, Lake George or Montreal on your way up or back! MoonBaby Posted June 20, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Just got off the Miracle yesterday and had a FABULOUS time! I highly recommend you choose this ship! The ports did not excite me either..but you can always stay on the ship and enjoy a less crowded Lido deck, take advance of the in port specials at the spa, etc. I choose a cruise for the ship, not the ports...I would be happy on a cruise with NO port days lol! There is soooo much to do on the Miracle, the entertainment is unbelievable, the ship is lovely...I could go on and on, but I am sure you get the idea!!!!! *******Proud member of O.A.T.C.****** 6/12/04 2nd Anniversary on The Carnival Miracle 6/2003 Carnival Legend 1st Anniversary 6/2002 Celebrity Mercury Honeymoon
mmceachn Posted June 20, 2004 #14 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Moon Baby I noticed that you are from Boston. Did Carnival provide bus service from Boston yo the pier in NY? I was on the Dawn on the 5/30 sailing and we were docked next to the Miracle in Nassau. SammyM
CruiseVirginfromBrooklyn Posted June 20, 2004 Author #15 Share Posted June 20, 2004 imlulu - I'm sorry if I embarrass you by singling you but, your post really made me laugh. I AM FROM NEW YORK! And, we're leaning towards the Miracle folks, and, Canadians don't take offense we do love Canada BUT, we think might just take a longer 7 or 10 day cruise in September so we have more time with you! Thanks all. Your input is much appreciated!
