Below the Salt on Magnifica after Essie and Essiesmom crash the party on Valiant Lady

Sorry to cut things off so abruptly.  I had #1 for debark but waited awhile because my plane was not due to leave until 2:05.  Facial recognition a breeze.  The hangup was on deck 7 where they were clocking you off.  People getting dinged and having to get out of line.  Getting to the machine and then having to open case and dig for wallet for key.  So by the time I got to the luggage hall there were on,y a few bags left in my area.  Out of the terminal, crossing the street and intending to go to the taxi line, but a man with a van and logo shirt said $10.  I said okay.  I was the first in the van and we probably sat there for 20 min before he gathered a van full.  Some of them from Austria, maybe some French, too.  I had my $10 out with $3 tip, but I saw the man hand the woman next to me a $20 bill, and I realized…European, not a tipping society…

Checked my bag at the curb, walked the length of the terminal to get to D60 where the little AA planes land.  Well, there was weather and planes were running late.  An hour fifteen, and then about half an hour waiting to take off.  At least air time was on,y an hour…but a little rough so no service.  Thus a day of junk snack food.

Drove home, ate little and went to bed early.
I didnt have as good a time on the cruises because of events that had been happening at home, thinking I should not have left.  And I was right.

Virgin is different, and of course they aren’t aiming at my demographic.  The restaurants are quirky, lots of vegetarian and vegan menu items.  I miss theater shows but live music was good.

As for Magnifica…it just feels like something is missing.  It’s sort of more like Armonia than Divina.  The class between.  Lots of large lounges with group seating.  Smoking casino disappointing.  I don’t gamble, but walking through to get to the theater….

It never felt crowded, even the buffet (cafeteria…).  Would I sail her again?  Yes.  But on a cruise longer than 3 days.  I think the main language onboard was Spanish.
My next two cruises are on Carnival, six days on Vista from Canaveral on Sept. 29.  And then Venezia from Canaveral again, 7 days on Jan. 5.

I am very sorry to hear that there were issues at home while you were cruising . I hope you get them all resolved or addressed satisfactorily.

I just found your review. Thank you for taking us along on your trips. Lots of good information for us. We are sailing on the Magnifica in a few weeks, so it was great to see what they had to offer.

If I may ask, does Msc offer walk off disembarkation? DH and I are getting off and then going right over to Allure for another cruise and were hoping to leave asap.

Thanks

Yes, they do walk off.  But I would not rush to get off.  I waited on Valiant Lady until near the last group because I knew I would not be able to check in that early.  As it was, I was able to drop off my small bag and walk right in and onto the ship.  Although you might be the first ones there, you would probably be waiting outside for awhile.  But check on the Royal board about times.  EM

There is still a lot left to sort out, and if they don’t move forward by Sept. 27 I may have to be a no show for my Carnival cruise Sept. 29.

I hope you are able to get it sorted and don't have to miss your cruise.  Even though it may be on Carnival, no one really deserve to miss a cruise through no fault of their own.
