Mumbai disembarkation - how early flight can we take?

Hi, we are disembarking in Mumbai on the 7th Dec.  The ship overnights in Mumbai arriving on the 6th.  We don't plan to leave earlier than actual disembarkation.  We are spending a few days in India before heading home.  I assume the 3:40 PM flight is doable out of Mumbai (BOM) airport.  Would the 8:35AM flight be too early? There is some info missing that would help to answer your questions.  Where are you staying in Mumbai?  That needs to be factored in to decide how early you need to leave for the airport.  Early mornings at BOM airport can be chaotic b/c so many flights leave in the wee hours, and you usually need to be there at least 3hrs before flights.  Also figure in traffic from where you are staying to the airport.  I have had both easy traffic, and bumper to bumper long traffic depending on the time of day.
