The comped gamblers usually play table games over slots I think but for a 3-nighter everybody is probably in the casino. It must be just cloudy with smoke! Not for us! Actually ....honestly it wasn't smoky at all.

We go on the 5 nights cruises out of Galveston and we've never encountered any issues!!! There was a guy in the casino on our last cruise that got caught cheating at cards, though! He was escorted out of the casino. Not sure why the shorter cruises would attract a crowd that you didn't want to deal with.

The 3/4 (not 5) night cruises tend to draw a younger, rowdier crowd; whose sole intention is to go as hard as possible for 72 hours. IMO it’s a similar crowd that does a 3 day bachelor/bachelorette trip to Vegas. It just isn’t something I will invest my money to be surrounded by.

We usually go on the Monday-Saturday itinerary and there are very few "younger and rowdier" people. It's mostly middle aged to retired (as we are). There were a few college kids on our last one in May but they never bothered us!! I guess your travels will be what you make of them!! 😉
SUgwoz Posted August 4 #30 Share Posted August 4 On two different weekend cruises this past winter, Freedom/Allure neither was anything out of the ordinary vs. 7 night cruises. Carnival and MSC now both are cheaper options. See more bachelor/Bachelorette parties looking at booking MSC since you can get on for like $300-400 with cheaper drinks. Since a large number of gamblers received comped/cheaper rates for Utopia in particular, the casinos will be mobbed. I don't mean to brag but our total cost for a Boardwalk Balcony on Utopia for 3 nights next February was $1,712.44 including prepaid gratuities, ship insurance, and all taxes. We're also doing a B2B and for the following 4 nights for the same cabin our total was $1,783.44. We wanted to see the brand new Utopia, so didn't think the prices were too bad. However, I booked this B2B a few months ago and prices continue to rise, so very glad I booked when I did!
