gift cards from aarp

i joined aarp to buy gift cards now after reading it seems as though its a gift certificate that can only be used towards your balance on a cruise(i had purchased carnival gift cards before from allstate rewards and could use them for my sail and sign account )has anyone ever purchase them from aarp before and can i use towards my sign and sail

Read the rules on Royal certificates from AARP. Must book with directly with Royal. If you can pre-charge the cost, I've been able to use the card balances to pay those amounts in the past. You can't show up on the ship with the "cards" and pay your balance.
