QM2 - cabin above shops

Hi all.

 

I'm considering a cabin on deck 4 which is above the shops. I guess shops aren't particularly noisy places but would welcome anyone's experience of these cabins.

Never had a problem. The shops are not open late or open early and on port days are closed. I like deck 4.

We have had cabins above the shops and Sir Samuel's. Never had a problem.
 

I would probably not want to be above one of the bars. I like Jazz but not that late. 

 

I have been above the Britannia Dinning Room and again no problem. The upstairs level has very limited hours.

The other factor is that noise transmission on ships (generally) is downwards, where the floor is acting as a passive loudspeaker for vibrations to the space below that floor  - dragging chairs, joggers, musicians, mechanical equipment. It's less of a factor upwards since the roof of the shop, in this case, isn't going to be seeing much vibration or noise, in fact the air and shop roof will be more of a sound barrier.
