Embarkation Time

Sailing on MSC for the first time this weekend (Seashore). Our ticket reflects a 12pm check-in time, and says that my check-in closes within 1 hour. Also says, "in the event you arrive after your assigned check-in slot closes you may be denied embarkation". I have never seen this on any other cruise line - is this enforced? Can I truly not board after 1pm?

The times given are only hopeful suggestions.  You can board any time up to two hours before scheduled departure.  If your departure is scheduled for 5pm, you must be checked in by 3pm.  EM

Be there early, you have paid for the first Day. You Can board when you Will.

Yes, I realize I have paid for the first day. I would rather start my day out leisurely at the hotel and not hurry up so I can wait in line at the port.
