Beach from cruise port

What’s the best beach to go in st Martin and best way to get there. 1st time going to this port

We haven't been there yet, either, but will be there next summer!

 

Though we have an excursion planned for the morning (Spirit of St. Maarten), we have the afternoon free.  Our plan is to go to Great Bay Beach.

 

It's a 20 minute walk from the port, or there is a water taxi that goes from the port right to the beach for $7 per person, round trip.  There is also a Boardwalk there.

 

I know there are other options that involve travel, but we didn't think they were worth even considering with only a few hours available for us. If we planned the whole day as a beach day, I would have looked into them.

Take a taxi there and return.

Many will suggest and recommend Great Bay, but please compare the ambiance, before making a decision, and experiencing “buyers remorse”, for Great Bay.

If one has the urge to visit Great Bay, then forgo the Babylon masses, the potential of raw sewage, and venture further to Little Divi…

For closer to Phillipsburg, take a look at Divi Little Bay, about a 10 - 15 minute taxi ride. You can rent loungers at the resort (IIRC, $20/2 + umbrella), with a very nice beach, bar, and food.
