Used A Roku?

Has anyone ever taken a Roku on their cruise so they can stream

to the big tv in the cabin.  I buy the streaming internet package and

typically have to watch Utube TV on my iPad mini.

just wondered if you got in trouble for using a Roku?

I realize I’m on a cruise….but I’m a senior and like to relax in cabin and

watch a few shows.

Use Amazon fire stick with no issues.  I have a post on here with my setup.  If you search you should find it.

Ports aren't typically blocked either.  You just have to know which ones to use and how.

Even if the ports aren't blocked, Carnival doesn't allow it.

Good info, was considering bringing a cable.

Thanks for this, but I'm not here to judge others on something so trivial.  Question was asked, question was answered.  I do it successfully every cruise l go on, regardless of the cruise line.  They still get my money, and I promise no tv's were harmed in the process.

On the older tv's use the standard ports and find the source switcher underneath the tv bezel. You will have to disconnect the LAN connector (looks like an oversize phone jack).  On newer ones, use the ports on the black box.  The new black boxes have addnl. ports and are recognized by the apps when you plug a device in.  Then you switch source inside the Carnival menu (or other cruise line (this will allow your volume control to work properly).
