Hotel & Parking -- Port Everglades

This'll be our first time sailing out of Fort Lauderdale. 

 

We'll be driving, so we're quite flexible.  When we go out of Port Canaveral, we stay in Titusville, which is about 30 minutes from the port -- that's not much to drive the last morning, and the price difference is significant.  We'd like to stay somewhere inexpensive -- we're comfortable with something simple, clean and convenient.  Breakfast provided by the hotel would be welcome but not necessary.  We're just two adults -- arriving late, then boarding the cruise the next day.  No special needs.  Any suggestions?  

 

What about options for parking?  We usually park at the port, but Port Everglades charges a maximum of $20/day -- what do they mean by maximum?  We drive a Honda -- might they charge us less than the maximum?  Ideas about where we might (safely) park for less than $240?

We stay just north of Ft. Lauderdale the night before the cruise.  Hotels are nicer with better room rates than those near Port Everglades. We usually stay in Delray Beach or Weston or Boca Raton which are about 30-40 minutes from the port. 

 

For parking, we reserve and pre-pay for parking at Parkngo (Bookparkngo.com). You drop your car near the entrance, get on the shuttle which will take you directly to your pier.  Upon return, they are prompt, drop you at your car and then receive bottled water at check out.  Also,  watch for the monkeys that live near the property!

I know Hyatt Place and Embassy Suites on 17th street offer parking with an overnight stay for around $10 a night. I am sure there are others also, you might want to call a few in this area, it is 1/2 mile to the port. Uber would be $6-8 to the port.
