ESLO Posted April 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2006 Hi All, Just wondering with the incident that occurred in Fla with the damaging of the pod on the QM2, and the following trips running slow and even dropping ports or shortening port times, would this possibly effect the 4th July cruise? With limited power and alot of area to cover, just wondering how it would effect the outcome of this planned trip. Any input would be appreciated. Regards, ESLO (Ed & Bev)
Navaleye Posted April 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2006 I don't beleive this is a high speed cruise, I would be surprised if more than 20 kts is called for.
cruiserking Posted April 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2006 Ed & Bev, I doubt very strongly that any of our ports on the July 4th trip will be dropped. I did however notice that some of the departure times have been changed from the original itinerary which likely is due to the pod issue. The original schedule called for us to leave Brooklyn at 5:30 pm that is now switched to 5 pm. Furthermore, the Boston departure has been moved up to 10 pm from 11 pm and Bar Harbor, Maine from 5:30 pm to 5 pm. Many cruise ships much slower than QM2 utalize this standard itinerary. It won't make much difference whether we are travelling with three pods or four. Jonathan
