Golden B315 - good or bad?

Good or bad? Eyes of the beholder.

We were in C-350, Golden Princess, trans-Atlantic, 8-02 (very stormy crossing), and it got pretty rough up there. We had bow-slap spray raining down on our balcony, and several windows along Prom Deck shattered due to ship's flexing and fighting for seaway in heavy seas. Golden is not, my opinion, a good rider in heavy seas, due to flat bottom and blunt prow, which tends to ride over waves rather than cutting through them.

Another downside - long walk to aft elevators for food venues - but good exercise I suppose.

Reference South America and balconies - we are just back last week from Regal Princess, 'round the Horn, Buenos Aires to Santiago, in regular outside (no balcony). We had very smooth seas 'round the Horn, only one and 1/2 bumpy nights North along the Chilean coast - all in all smoother than we had expected. We actually had good weather also.

Enjoy your trip - South America 'round the Horn is a great cruise
