QE2 cabins

Hello everyone,

We have travelled transatlanltic a few times on the QM2 now and thought its high time for a med cruise, so we have booked on the QE2 on 17th July Mediteranean Treasures! Yippee.

My big question being we have booked an inside cabin in the Mauretania but was thinking of getting an outside.

Cunard said that the portholes dont open so no fresh air, but does anyone know if the room sizes are bigger from B5, which we are currently booked in to a B2 which we were thinking of changing to?

Thanks

The smallest M5 is 73 sq feet, while the largest M2 is 163 sq feet - but within that there is a range, the largest M5 140 sq feet, the smallest M2 110 sq feet - so it really depends on your cabin. Of course, in an M2 you may have a greater chance of being bumped up to M1.....details of cabin sizes are here:

Hi, I asume you mean M5 and M2?

The links above lead to out of date info (before the introduction of M6 and M7 grades)

M5's now vary from 115 to 155 sq. ft. M2's from 110 to 163 sq. ft.

So you could end up in a bigger room but you could end up in a smaller one. Also, bad weather may requre the deadlights (steel covers over the portholes) be closed. Admittedly less likely in the Med than on a transatlantic crossing but who knows what the Bay of Biscay will be like.

Regards, Colin.
