livsea2 Posted April 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Every state is a little different in their regulation of liquor sales. Like in some states you can buy beer and wine in grocery stores but liquor only in special shops. In my state you have to go to special "liquor stores" for any alcohol, beer ,wine, or hard stuff. How are sales of beer wine, and liquor handled in California, specifically the L.A. area? Thanks!
DonLou Posted April 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2006 No restrictions. There are also plenty of 24 hour 7 days a week stores around.
Splinter Posted April 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2006 About the only thing we don't have in CA is vending machines with alcohol (which you can find in Japan). You can buy alcohol 24/7 at the following (during the hours they are usually open): Grocery stores (Ralph's, Albertson's, Von's, etc.) Most drug stores (Long's, Sav-On, etc.) 7-11 and other convenience stores Sam's Club Costco Trader Joe's

Thanks for the info. California seem more liberal than any state I've been!
ronrythm Posted April 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2006 According to the California Alcoholic Beverage Commision: While the stores may be open, alcoholic beverages may not be sold from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. This also includes bars and clubs. Violations punishable by loss of license. Which is why most of them make last call at 1:30. Got give everybody 4 hours to sober up.:D But at least we don't have state run liquor stores. Enjoy Ron
