BtoB cruises on different ships

Hello Everyone!

As of late, Lauren and I have started doing BtoB cruises on two different ships. Has anyone tried this, and do you get as big a kick as we do from the experience?

It sure gives you a valid "apples to apples" comparison of two different ships and two different companies. In addition, it turns a 7 day cruise into a 14 day "at sea" experience. Yes you do have a transition day, but we try to make every moment count. If you have the time, there are advantages (longer cruise, less airfares, meet more people, mutliple experiences...,).

Our first BtoB was the Vision of the Seas and the Summit. Both ships were great, but of course, the food got really went upscale the last seven days.

Our second try was the Caribbean Princess and the Zuiderdam, once again, totally different, but positive experiences! And again, the food improved on our second ship!:)

So, here is our next one coming up during winter break 2006:

We are doing the Millennium (eastern Caribbean) and the Westerdam (eastern Caribbean). Both ships visit the eastern Caribbean, but no two ports are the same, except Ft Lauderdale. So the 14 day experience includes Casa de Campo, San Juan, St Thomas, Nassau, Grand Turk, Tortola, St Maarten and Half Moon Cay.

We have had 9 day, 10 day, 12 day and 14 day cruises on the same ship and that's a wonderful experience, but this is a nice change of pace!

Any other Dualship BtoB cruisers out there?

Enjoy!

Kel

Yes, Jan 2005 we did Constellation follwed by Adventure of the Seas and loved it!

Thinking of Century followed by Navigator of the Seas for next Jan.

This is the best of two worlds IMHO. A little more activity on RCL and a little more pampering with Celebrity.

We are going on April 28th across the Atlantic on the Brilliance of the Seas for 12 nights, staying in Barcelona for 3 days then on the Celebrity Millennium for 12 nights around the Mediterranean. Its the first time for us to do this.

BenLynn,

Perfect combo!! Make sure you stay a couple of extra days in Venice. (We did this Millennium itinerary a few years ago):) Make it a perfect 30 day vacation! I'm jealous, but impressed. Only one long flight home -- that's the way to travel.

I have been thinking Alaska would be a great place to do this, going northbound with one cruise line and southbound with another. That way you could hit some different ports and get to see different glaciers. For example, Glacier Bay one direction and Hubbard Glacier the other. If you schedule them so they are not exactly BtoB, you can also fit in some time for sightseeing up in Alaska between the two.

My DW and I have done quite a few B2B's both on the same ship, and on different ships. We have done B2B's in Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Caribbean and Europe. Our best was on a Renaissance ship, starting in Citacheveccia (Rome), ending 12 days later in Venice, then driving to Barcelona over a 5 day period and boarding another Renaissance ship for a 12 day trip back to Citacheveccia.
