Florence on a Thursday

We will be in Florence on a Thursday. I heard that there is a great outlet mall about 45 minutes outside the city. It has such designers as Prada, Fendi, Ferragamo, etc. Has anyone heard about this or know anything? I was thinking of hiring a guide and doing a half day at the outlets and the afternoon in Florence. Any suggestions for a good guide?

I too am thinking of going to the Mall, but didn't know if it was worth it and don't know anyone who has been. Have you heard from someone who

has been there?

 

On the site http://www.outlet-firenze.com/the_mall.htm they have leads to two

guides that will take you there. They also talk about a shuttle service that

operates from Florence to the Mall. I was thinking of e-mailing the guides to see what they charge for the trip.

We spent almost a full day in Florence on a Sunday and quite frankly it was not enough time to see all that Florence has to offer. If it was me, I would spend the day in Florence. If you are going to do both, I would do Florence flirst and the outlet last unless it is more advantageous to reverse the order in terms of distance, etc.
