Anyone have detailled driving directions

Recommended Posts

To Ballantyne pier? Cruisepark had really good directions but they are now out of business. I didn't save mine. A friend will be picking us up at this pier and I really want her to feel comfortable about the drive. She will be coming from the US. Getting to the border is easy, it is the rest that gets dicey.

The Port Of Vancouver site had some basic driving directions but I felt they left out helpful information. I am looking for the kind of thing that would include landmarks and such. Something I can print out in a large font and tape to the dash.

Anyone?

I would suggest following the signs from Highway 99 in Richmond to Knight

Street, then going right down Knight, which takes a jog and becomes Clark.

Stay on Clark past East Hastings to Stewart. There is an overpass and loop

there. Go west on Stewart to Ballantyne pier. This is the most direct route, avoids

downtown Vancouver and the less desireable Main Street area. Once on

Stewart, the pier is well marked and the ship you have arrived on should be

very visible.

See thismap which is the most detailed that I could find.

Correction to the above:

Sorry, it's been a while since I was actually there. Looking more closely

at the map, Stewart does not seem to go through to Ballantyne Pier.

From Clark, it is necessary to go west on East Hastings to Heatley, then right

on Heatley directly to the pier. Try going to www.maps.google.com, zoom in

on the area just east of Canada Place in hybrid mode and you will see the

streets as well as the satellite view showing the cruise terminal (large white

building)

The Heatley St. overpass is now closed for security reasons. The original directions were correct. Go north on Knight Street, which jogs over to become Clark Drive. Continue north on Clark until you cross the overpass, which loops 180 degrees back and you will reach a stop sign. Turn right at the stop sign and go about half a kilometer to Ballantyne Pier.

Thanks everyone. I was getting so confused as every site had different directions. Sounds like Knight street and Clark are the way to go. Does anyone know the exit number for Knight street and isn't there something about a tunnel?

Yes, there is a tunnel under the Fraser River before reaching the Knight St. turnoff.

Stay in the right lane and exit at Westminster Highway. Knight is the second intersection. Turn Left.

(There is another access but it is a little more involved so I would use the above)

Google map shows it clearly - just zoom in to Highway 99 in Richmond.
