jsea Posted June 25, 2004 #77 Share Posted June 25, 2004
How do you get to change the color and font of your text??
To change color, use the following format: [ COLOR=XYZ ] put your text here and end with [ /COLOR ] To chance font, use the following format: [ FONT=XYZ ] put your text here and end with [ /FONT ] EXCEPT you must not have spaces in between the brackets or it won't work. I only put spaces so you could see what the inputs actually are. Also, for quick access to a change of font or color, you can use the pulldown menus above the message field when replying to threads (you must click 'advanced') and the appropriate coding inputs will appear. I hope that helped.

I had to change my name to get in. But, all is well, I was tired of it anyway. New name to go with the new look. Great Job Cruise Critic!!! srphnx Posted June 25, 2004 #84 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Sue we liked you signature, it was the open space below it that wasn't fun. I want to see your next cruise again. Bdjam on every post just below the type - in window is a box marked Show your signature which you can uncheck. See?

izucker789 Posted June 25, 2004 #86 Share Posted June 25, 2004 I find it really curious that I have lost all my post totals, had my prior posts turned into "guest" and yet all the heavy hitters still have thousands of posts and their names intact. jsea Posted June 25, 2004 #96 Share Posted June 25, 2004 In regards to hiding signatures, I know they have that feature and that's why I am glad. I guess 'the next best feature' was reading as: 'the next best feature I would like'. bdjam, I have to say, when it comes to 3000+ posters, you are one of the few who truly put a lot of work into each and every one. I can't say the same for all the other 'heavy hitters'. Don't worry, your reputation will proceed you and those who are not familiar with your contributions will soon be.
GottoCruise Posted June 25, 2004 #97 Share Posted June 25, 2004 I'm glad everyone is having "fun" with the new board - I'm just frustrated - lost my countdown clock - my Photo Avatar - can't figure out how to post a signature - I'm just a computer "dummy" - but I did finally figure it all out on the old board - Now I'm "lost" again! Why does my "clock" post only in "code"??? - If you click on it - it shows the correct info. I "saved" the URL from my Photo Avatar on the old board - but when I put it in "Edit Avatar" - it does not work??? Someone HELP - I'm about to "leave" the board altogether!!! Globaliser Posted June 25, 2004 #98 Share Posted June 25, 2004
lost my countdown clock ... can't figure out how to post a signature ... Why does my "clock" post only in "code"???
Here's a start, with some help for your signature. Click on User CP (link at the top left of the page), then click Edit Signature (in the list on the left of the User CP). You want to edit the contents of the signature box so that they look like this:-
Until Pacific Princess Islands of the Pacific Theater <img src=http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=ff0000&cdt=2004;07;25;12;00;00&timezone=GMT+0900> Until Golden Princess Western European Capitals <img src=http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=0000ff&cdt=2005;07;31;12;00;00&timezone=GMT+0000> Until Golden Princess British Isles <img src=http://escati.linkopp.net/cgi-bin/countdown.cgi?trgb=000000&srgb=00ff00&prgb=0000ff&cdt=2005;08;10;12;00;00&timezone=GMT+0000>
(Ignore the colours that come up in that display - it's the easiest way I can find to show you what you need to do.) You'll see that you're basically adding <img src= to the beginning of the URL for your clock, and > at the end.
GottoCruise Posted June 25, 2004 #99 Share Posted June 25, 2004 :D :D I cut & Pasted exactly what you posted - and HOORAY! - at least my "countdown Clock is back!! I still don't know what I was doing wrong - but until I have to change the "clock" --Who cares?? At least I can see my days now....I can't thank you enough!!! Now - what do I do about my Photo Avatar?---I have photos I can use on my computer, in "starter" editions of Adobe and Camedia etc. but I can't seem to make them small enough and get the proper URL to post.....I was using one on the old board - but I cannot transfer it - I've tried everything I can think of....Can you help with this too??? or am I asking too much now??? - Renee (aka GotToCruise):o
Globaliser Posted June 25, 2004 #100 Share Posted June 25, 2004 If your clock vanishes again, try this: Go to User CP -> Edit Options, and go right to the bottom. Select the Standard interface, and then save it. Then Edit Signature and get the code back in as I've suggested. The enhanced WYSIWYG interface seems to muck up everyone's countdown clocks and signatures generally because there's too much code competing with itself. I actually hate it enough that I've turned it off completely. I can't help with avatars, but there are lots of threads on this on the help board, so you could go over and have a look.
