Honest Review of Recent Sun Princess Voyage

Just returned today from a 10 day West Indies trip. Overall it was a good experience.

The Good:

The food was fantastic, the service was some of the best I have ever received and the itinerary was unique with stops in St. Vincent, Grenada, Martinique, St. Lucia. I once again met several great CCers.

The Bad: I know the ship has some thruster problems but the above itenary is a real stretch to complete. The first few ports we just couldnt seem to make on time even though we had perfect sailing conditions.

The entertainment onboard is really quite boring and lacking. Vinnie the singer had a nice voice but needs to lose the I am 50 but want to look 30. Production Shows were borderline average. The magician was decent the first show but was embarrassing the 2nd show, actually tipped over his cart of tricks and botched a card trick and had to start over. The juggler, who was a mime was brutal. Hats off to the Comedian Kevin Devane as he was very entertaining and the Piano singer in the atrium had a constant large crowd even though I didnt sit in and listen to his work. Casino = Sub Par OVerall be ready for bed at 11pm.

The Ugly. I was on Deck 10 aft. They have a teen room on deck 12 aft. Every evening and night a certain group of about 10 teens on board would hang out in the stairwells from deck 8 to deck 12, actually laying down blocking the way, even leaving food trays on the stairs. As the cruise wore on they obviously became bored as they started popping off their mouths at anyone who walked by. This was embarrassing to me. I will give Princess credit for having "teen Security" on board but these kids laughed them off.

I would recommend this ship and cruise to anyone whose main goal is looking for outstanding food and service. If entertainment is a big for you I would look elsewhere.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

I give them credit because they actually had security with yellow shirts that said teen police, I guess all this did was keep the behaved kids behaved.

The production shows were called "Tribute" and "Curtain UP" with a singer called John White and Eliza Mackle.

Thanks – I saw both shows on Island Princess and thought they were well done – but I don’t recognize the names of the talent.
